Hi, I’m Urien — an award-winning photographer with over two decades of experience behind the lens.
My journey began one Christmas morning with an old Minolta XD7 under the tree, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Over the years, what started as a passion gradually evolved into a profession. This little corner of the internet will be home to my more personal, creative work — not necessarily client-led, though that may appear from time to time.
While my primary focus is wedding and pet photography, I’m driven by curiosity and a desire to explore. Landscape, conceptual work, astrophotography, and digital art are all areas I’m excited to dive into more deeply.
This space exists for the art I create for myself — free from the boundaries of client briefs. It’s work that brings me joy, that helps me express who I am. If any of it resonates with you too, that’s a bonus.
Intentionality will drive these images more so than my other work.
I aim to create work that’s not just personally meaningful, but that also reaches beyond the limits of commercial commissions to connect with a wider audience.
Although I often work with traditional film — particularly medium format — much of what I’ll share here also explores the overlap between digital photography and digital art. I believe the journey of an image doesn’t end on a screen. Paper choice, framing, the physical space it inhabits — these are vital components in completing an image’s story. Creating work that’s truly worthy of print is a constant ambition, especially in today’s fast-scrolling digital world.
Alongside this, my blog will feature ongoing bodies of work — projects that stretch beyond a single image to tell deeper, more sustained stories.
